An interesting experience where the lens constructs the world in observing the characters, but also feeling personable to engage with them too. Using medium-close-ups constantly to have the characters be framed as the very portraits their are critiquing and staring down the barrel of the lens to the audience critiquing the film while they critique the audience. Fun little paradox. But for the most part, camera served to elevate the story through strong performances and seeing into an untapped world of a character ready to break under the pressure of being exposed in a superficial world of prestige and ego.

An ambitious project about sisterhood and grief, this psychological-thriller looks at psychedelics and both their negative and positive effects with mental health. This area of research is only now being opened up in Australia, and mixing it with themes of metamorphosis, self-identity, and grief, Chrysalis is a unique experience for audiences, breaking narrative conventions where her internal conflict becomes her external conflict.

Pushing the limits of what we could capture to meet the magnitude of this disastrous festival was no easy task. Using Virtual Production, location shoots, and extensive lighting, camera, and co-ordination we were able to achieve a massive technical feat for our small budget production. Already being selected and winning awards at film festivals in its first year. For more information of where its going to pop-up, check out its socials or contact me for more information.
